Working on the score for this one was tricky. I had to really take in to consideration the placement of the music around the voice, as the voice is paramount to the success of the piece. I also observed a certain 'flow' with the delivery of the poem, that became almost a vocal guidetrack for the music.

The other big idea here was to avoid anything explicitly, 'irish' and I felt more inspired by the notion of a beautiful city in the dead hours of the morning and the ambiguous nature of parts of the piece, particularly the last line.

Sounds heard are piano, prepared piano, cello, viola, electronics and a sampled uilleann pipe drone.
