For this project I offered original ambient compositions, but also utilized my 'Great Lakes Mystery' moniker to create original electronic beat-orientated tracks. My goal was to use these electronic tracks in both a classic way and in a score/soundtrack way. The tracks are solid structures with elements worked to what is happening on screen, rather than vice-versa.
The Documentary “Hill Street” looks at the evolution of skateboarding culture in Dublin since the late 1980′s.
The initial driving force behind the scene was a proprietor of a unique skate shop in North Dublin inner city – “Clive’s of Hill Street”. From here Clive Rowen progressed the scene through the building of primitive ramps at the shop before graduating to a temporary skate park in the Top Hat Ballroom in South Dublin. Clive even managed to convince a Powell Team, including the legendary Tony Hawk, to visit the park for a now historic demo.
Here is a standalone video for a track from the ost, which was the penultimate piece of music in the film.
The OST was released as a limited edition cassette tape, which has now sold-out.
